Dear friends,
A little bit more than 2 years ago in Milan, you chose me as the President of this
great organisation for a second term. Privilege that I have made my life and priority.
The past two years have been hard for our organisation. Internal and external forces
have tried to destroy what we have built together for more than a hundred years.
The work we have done together in benefit of pure-bred dogs around the world. Everywhere
in the WORLD, from Peru to Egypt. From Vietnam to The Netherlands. From Norway to
China.

Thuin: showcasing the canine world!
This year again, FCI’s headquarters put together a series of events to promote the
unique bond between dogs and humans. In 2011, the Mayor of Thuin proclaimed the
city World Capital of Dogs and we have been committed ever since to keep this slogan
alive through the organisation of “FCI home-made events”, aimed at our “neighbours”.
In June, we organised a canicross in Aulne Abbey, the first one ever organised by
FCI as co-organiser:

In August, our 3rd canine walk was a huge success:

Montigny-le-Tilleul hosted its traditional FCI cynothon in September:

Be it fun events for the whole family, or sporting events for the fittest, they
allow us all to enjoy a nice day out with dogs. Whether our own or a “borrowed”
dog, the lucky ones who participate in our doggy rendez-vous always have the opportunity
to share a moment with a four-legged companion, since we always invite Charleroi’s
SPA (pet protection association): anyone can walk a dog from the SPA and even adopt
it, after the regulatory reflection period
Last but not least: we are very happy to inform you that two local institutions
have just started visiting dogs projects with us,
inspired by FCI’s project carried
out in Thuin in 2014. We are so excited to collaborate in this type of initiative
and to promote therapy dogs !
If you organise similar projects, please share them with us and we will publish
it in our media: we want the whole world to know about your work!
I wish you a very happy New Year: hope to see you visiting our events
